New CFedS Program Manager

Mr. Don Buhler, Chief Cadastral Surveyor of the United States, has appointed Roger Green as the new CFedS Program Manager, effective June 1, 2008. Mr. Buhler's letter also named Roger as the Chairperson for the CFedS Certification Panel in addition to the day to day management of the CFedS program. Roger has been the CFedS Training Coordinator and a BLM Indian Lands Surveyor previous to that.

Roger first signed on with the BLM in Washington, DC during its bicentennial year. He worked with the Eastern States Office from New York to Minnesota. Since then, he has worked for the U.S. Forest Service & BLM in 13 states. He is a registered professional surveyor in Oregon, Montana & Arizona; and a Certified Water Rights Examiner in Oregon. Prior to coming to BLM’s National Training Center, Roger was one of the first BLM Indian Lands Surveyors (BILS) serving Indian Country in six states across the upper Midwest.

Ron Scherler, the original CFedS Program Manager, will continue to be involved in CFedS but in a lesser role. Ron and his wife plan to move back to Oregon this summer where he will work in the BLM Oregon State Office. Dennis Mouland, will remain as BLM's National Cadastral Training Coordinator where he continues to manage the cadastral survey educational programs. Ron and Dennis have built the CFedS Training into a great program and Roger will do his best to "follow in Ron's footstep!"
