June 2011 Exam Results

The results from the June 3rd, 2011 examination are in. Of the 81 people who took the exam (or parts of it), 50 of them are now Certified Federal Surveyors! Congratulations!

This brings our total of Certified Federal Surveyors so far to 511. 50 trainees took all three parts for the first time, and 64% of them passed the entire exam.

The “20 Week Method” continues to be very successful. The 20 Week Method divides the training material into 2-week sections; with a conference call between each section. Of the “20 Week Method” trainees that took the exam, for the first time, 64% passed. At this time 84% of the trainees are participating in the 20 Week method. Actively participating in the “20 Week Method” continues to significantly increase your chance on passing the exam. See 20 Week Method for more information.

The exam is divided into three units. Here are the results for each unit:

  • 51 people took Unit #1, 92% passed
  • 81 people took Unit #2, 64% passed
  • 56 people took Unit #3, 75% passed

Unit #2 continues to be the most difficult unit.
Some of the trainees were retaking a failed unit; of the 37 units re-taken 20 were successfully passed (54%).
Another way to look at this exam is based on the first, second or third attempt:

  • First attempt……… 61% passing rate
  • Second attempt….. 56% passing rate
  • Third attempt……... 56% passing rate

In total 189 units were taken and of those142 were passed (75%).
We are proud of all trainees who dedicated the time and effort to attempt this rigorous and thorough examination.
