GS-1373-12 Unit Chief Announcement

California State Office has an opening for an experienced field surveyor that is willing to impart his/her knowledge upon the next generation of land surveyors. The location is centralized in the state, with potential duty stations of El Dorado Hills (near Folsom), Clovis (near Fresno), or Bakersfield.

There are currently three Unit Chiefs that report to the Field Chief. Each Unit Chief typically supervises five Cadastral Surveyors, and up to ten surveying technicians. Roughly 75% of the duties are office related, and about 25% field related.

California is an exciting location, being a couple hours from the Pacific Ocean, the Sierra Nevada Range, Reno, Tahoe, the deserts, etc., all nearby.

If you are interested in being a Supervisor but still want to spend time the field, please apply to this announcement:

Here is a link to USA Jobs.

More information about each location can be found at:,_California,_California,_California
