Salary Ranges –
GS 12: $98,232 – $127,698 per year
- Plan, conduct, document and guide Public Land Survey System surveys and resurveys, mineral surveys, Homestead Entry surveys, Indian allotment, riparian or littoral boundaries following public land laws and Interior of Land Board Appeals decisions.
- Design data collection projects and collect geodetic data to verify accuracy and reliability of existing surveys and/or to provide more precise positions for the Geographic Data Coordinate Data Base.
- Prepare Instructions for survey requests by researching, documenting, collecting, and interpreting records. Create reports that document unusual survey decisions in preparation for expert witness testimony that may be required by a court of law.
- Research, document, collect, and interpret administrative and historical records which may determine if a field investigation is required to verify facts.
- Train others in official plat and note production. Provide technical advice, direction, and assistance to survey crews.
